Pumpkin is a superfruit like no other with sheer amounts of natural vitamins and antioxidants found in both the flesh and the seeds of the pumpkin fruit. Pumpkin is jam-packed with skin-loving favourites Vitamins A and C (which help to boost collagen production and protect against premature ageing) alongside additional Vitamins B, E and K (to support skin barrier function and maintain a strong internal structure) pumpkins have some of the biggest antioxidant benefits of any fruit. They also contain high levels of Zinc which can help with everything from balancing hormones to controlling oil production, making them a great addition to anti-acne skincare products.

Pumpkins utilized in Kaneya topical skincare benefit from the naturally produced enzymes. found in the fruit of pumpkin. These are high in proteases which dissolve protein and loosen dead cells from the surface of the skin, making our formulation an excellent exfoliator.

Proteases enzymes also have a small molecular structure so they can penetrate the lower layers of the skin more effectively, aiding the transportation of other ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid in reaching their destination more easily. Fruit enzymes such as pumpkin tend to be a lot gentler on the skin and can therefore be used by a number of different skin types - even sensitive skin types - as they cause minimal irritation.

Pumpkin seeds provide a rich source of Omega-6 essential fatty acids. Pumpkin seeds are incredibly emollient and help to hydrate the skin from the inside out to keep it looking healthy and smooth. Pumpkin seed oil also aids cell regeneration, encourages better healing, and provides a number of anti-ageing benefits. Pumpkin extract makes a welcome addition to topical skincare formulations aimed at mature, dehydrated and problematic complexions.
